Eins:Eins Metamorphosen

Ovid’s epic poem relates the story of mankind as an endless chain of transformations. The pervasive motion of becoming and ceasing to be, creation and destruction follows no rules and occurs at random. This motion doesn’t necessary represent progress, only a constant process. Director Laura Koerfer and actress Yanna Rüger enter this cosmos of antiquity. Just how near or how far from us is the ideal image of the world, where man lives in touch with nature, the preternatural and the everyday are equally taken for facts, where death is not considered the end of an individual’s life, but rather as part of the process of progression, as metamorphosis? What happens when we let ourselves get carried away by fantastical narratives? Is it escapism, a break from reality, or actually deep realization?
